The WIA Festival 2025 (Women in Architecture) is the first nationwide festival in Germany dedicated to making women visible in architecture, interior architecture, urban and landscape planning, and structural and civil engineering. Across the country, 144 participants will present 264 projects highlighting the presence of women in the construction industry. We look forward to kicking off this vibrant and diverse festival with you at our regional opening and celebrating together.

The exhibition presents women architects from the Global South and their diverse perspectives, visions, and projects. It sheds light on the situation of women in the construction industry in the Global South, highlighting both the challenges they face and the successful ways in which they are carving out space for themselves in the profession. Through posters and personal statements, the works and voices of selected women architects from 15 different countries—including Argentina, Malawi, and Tanzania—are brought to the forefront and introduced to the wider public.
