As an artist, critic and art historian Chika Okeke-Agulu focuses on indigenous, modern and contemporary African and Diaspora art history and theory. He is director of the Africa World Initiative and holds professorships at Princeton University and Oxford. He is Fellow of the British Academy, co-editor (Nka: Journal of Contemporary African Art) and curator of many exhibitions: Who knows tomorrow (Staatliche Museen zu Berlin 2010), Samuel Fosso: Affirmative Acts (Princeton Art Museum, 2022), El Anatsui: Triumphant Scale (Haus der Kunst Munich, 2019) and the Sharjah Biennial (2023). On advisory boards, he supports Hyundai Tate Research Centre and Tate Modern (London), the Africa Institute (Sharjah) and the Edo Museum West African Art (Benin City).
