As an author and performance artist, Michael Küppers-Adebisi focuses on the intersections of visual art, culture and media activism. As a founding board member of Berlin Global Village (2012-2018) and Decolonize Berlin e. V. (since 2018) he initiates urban, decolonial interventions. He is co-founder of the Black Media Congress Berlin (2002-2004), the May Ayim Award (UNESCO, 2004) and since 2012 the Black Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art and Discourse (UN Decade for People of African Descent). He is the initator of the Decolonial Memorial/ Lobbying (2017-2023), and was project manager (04/2023-10/2023), jury member (subject juror) and project consultant (2024).
