Elfriede Müller studied in Freiburg and received her PhD in history and literary studies at the Technische Universität Berlin. She spent some time in Paris (1980–1986) and lives in Berlin (since 1993). She is head of the office for art in public space of the berufsverbands bildender künstler*innen berlin e.V. (since 1994 bbk berlin e.V.) and is the editor of the annual journal kunst-stadt, stadt-kunst, Berlin. She has accompanied the project Dekoloniales Denkzeichen since an early stage.
