Ulrich Vogl has been a freelance artist since studying fine arts in Munich, Berlin, and New York. Now he lives in Berlin. His artistic career has been characterized by extended stays abroad in cities such as Paris, New York, Dublin, Tel Aviv, and Milan. In recent years, Vogl has increasingly devoted himself to art in public spaces and art in architecture. His work often addresses themes of time and memory, collective memory, conflicts, and traumas as well as the processing of such. Vogl has received numerous annual scholarships, including those from the Stiftung Kunstfonds Bonn and the DAAD. He has also been part of important residency programs such as the Artists' Residency Program of the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Dublin, Viafarini-in-Residence of the Fondazione Viafarini in Milan and the Artport Residency in Tel Aviv.
