Romy Achituv, was born in Israel and currently resides in the US, where he has taught digital media art and design. He has an education in Fine Art, Philosophy, Media Technology. While grounded in sculpture, his practice is diverse in style, media, and techniques. Whenever possible, he builds on an open exchange with local community members and other key stakeholders, both before and during the development and production phases of each project. Romy’s contributions to the art world are recognized in prestigious collections including The Smithsonian Museum of American Art in Washington DC, The Tel Aviv Museum of Art in Israel, and Itau Cultural in São Paulo. His work has been acknowledged by numerous grants and awards such as the OLB Critics Choice award at EMAF - European Media Art Festival (2000). Additionally, Romy has been part of various artists residencies including those at Yaddo in Saratoga Springs NY, the MacDowell Colony in New Hampshire, and the Incheon Art Platform in South Korea.
