Rebecca Pokua Korang, a Berlin-based multidisciplinary artist and cultural educator, earned her BA in Dance at the Kingston University, London, in 2017. Engaged in several collaborative projects spanning dance, theater, performance, and cultural education, she co-founded the feminist theater collective Thesmophoria together with 8 artists in 2020. Until 2021 Korang worked as a social worker for Outreach gGmbH, focusing on empowering children and young people facing racism. Since 2020, the German-Ghanaian artist co-directed the empowerment format "PowerGirls" with Farina Finke, a youth project for Black girls* in Berlin. In her practice she is interested in community engagement and the element of interactivity while discussing topics of cultural memory, anti-racism, colonialism. Currently she is doing her MA in Spatial Strategies at the Kunsthochschule Weissensee in Berlin.
