STAGE PROGRAMME

The music programme (4:30-10:30 PM) brings together artists who connect global club cultures, diasporic sound traditions, and contemporary electronic music.

4:30 PM-6:30 PM: FUEGA MAMI

With Fuega Mami, a defining voice of the new reggaeton and Latin club scene takes the stage. Her sets combine sensual perreo, powerful basslines, and influences from baile funk, merengue house, and electronic dembow. The result is an energetic, body-driven sound that brings together different currents of Latin American club music and takes audiences on an intense, sensual sonic journey.

6:30-7:30 PM: HASSAN ELMALIK

Virtuoso musician Hassan Elmalik builds a bridge between tradition and experimental sound exploration. Coming from Omdurman in Sudan, he has developed a style shaped by Sudanese roots, Ethiopian rhythms, Jamaican reggae, and African blues. His music speaks of cultural complexity, historical resonances, and the musical interconnections that run along the Nile.

7:30-8:30 PM: KARTINI

Berlin-based musician KARTINI moves between indie pop, R&B, and electronic soundscapes. Her music—which she describes as “Ethereal Bass Pop”—combines atmospheric, melancholic moods with deep bass frequencies and club-oriented structures. At its centre is her compelling voice, carrying a sound that is both intimate and driving.

8:30-9:30 PM: MARI.AMA

As an Afropean artist, MARI.AMA moves between continents, languages, and musical traditions. As a singer, songwriter, and curator, she combines soul, pop, and electronic sounds with West African rhythms and influences rooted in her family connections between Europe and West Africa. Her work understands music as a space for memory, identity, and cultural connection.

9:30-10:30 UHR: DJ MARSHAL

Closing the evening is DJ Marshal, a Berlin-based DJ who fills the space with dance through energetic sets ranging from afrotech to afrohouse. His performances are characterised by driving rhythms, hypnotic grooves, and a keen sense of dynamics - a powerful musical finale that allows the festival to end in motion.

5:15-5:30 PM: GIRLS* ON BEAT

A special highlight is the performance by Girls* on Beat, a dance project for girls* aged 7 to 16 from Neukölln and the surrounding area. Together, participants explore hip-hop, freestyle, and choreography while developing their own movements, which now become visible in a collective stage performance. Schilleria/ Mince e.V.

EXHIBITIONS

How do migration, history and cultural heritage shape our understanding of belonging? These three exhibitions invite visitors to explore these questions from different perspectives. All are open from 4.00 pm to 10.30 pm.

MEDINE TIDOU: WHAT REMAINS?

At the Lumumba Gallery, Berlin-based photographer Médine Tidou is presenting photographic works under the title “What Remains? – Traces of Culture and Belonging”, which reveal cultural identity as something living and ever-changing. She explores how culture is passed on, transformed and reappropriated across generations and borders. Her images focus on West African societies and the Afro-diaspora in Europe. The exhibition runs as part of 48 Stunden Neukölln until 5 July 2026.

GROUP EXHIBITION: GATHERING OTHERWISE

“Gathering Otherwise – Diasporic Connections” features works by Soukaina El Adak, Martha Díaz Adam, Juan Camilo Alfonso and Ọládayọ̀ Thomas. Taking the annual Earth Ceremony at the decolonial memorial “EarthNest” as their starting point, the artists explore diasporic identities, origins, memory and the lingering effects of colonial history. On display until 10 July 2026 at the Berlin Global Village

TRAVELLING EXHIBITION: BETWEEN PETITION AND REBELLION

The travelling exhibition “Between Petition and Rebellion” by Initiative Perspektivwechsel presents stories of anti-colonial resistance in Cameroon. Three resistance movements serve as examples of different generations and social groups that have fought – and continue to fight – against colonialism and its ongoing impacts.. They highlight the extent of the racist colonial policies pursued by Germany, France and the United Kingdom in Cameroon.

FILMPROGRAMME & DISCUSSION

Two special film events offer the chance to explore different perspectives on memory, belonging, empowerment and social change.

7:00-9:30 PM: OUR STORIES - OUR VOICES!

Mpower presents: Our Stories – Our Voices! is screening short films by young girls* of colour in the Chandra Mohanty Room; these were created as part of empowerment-focused project weeks. The films tell personal, creative and socially critical stories from the perspective of young filmmakers and create a space for exchange and connection.

8:00-9:30 PM: COLONIALISM MADE IN GÖTTINGEN

Anton Wilhelm Amo Erbschaft and Göttingen Postkolonial present the documentary film ‘Colonialism Made in Göttingen’ in the Miriam Makeba Hall. The film sheds light on colonial continuities in Germany and follows local initiatives, activists and experts as they work towards coming to terms with the past, remembrance and justice. This will be followed by a discussion between the director, Sarah Böger, and the cultural studies scholar, Andrea-Vicky Amankwaa-Birago.
