Migration

Project Launch: “New Roots – Migration and Capital Cities. Cities in Transition: Berlin–Mexico City 2026”

📅 Fr, August 20th, 2026 | 4:30 - 7 pm
📍 Berlin Global Village

This evening event brings together past, present, and future German-Mexican perspectives on migration. With the photo exhibition “Memorias del camino,” which celebrates Casa Tochan’s 15th anniversary and, through photographs and pictograms, looks back on the projects of Migrantas in Mexico (2015–2016), and a subsequent panel discussion on migration and integration in Berlin and Mexico City, we build a bridge between memory and contemporary perspectives. Under the guiding principle “Remembering – Understanding – Thinking Ahead,
both events bring together stakeholders from academia and civil society to foster dialogue about the future of the Berlin–Mexico City city partnership.
