Dorothee Bienert is a curator, cultural manager, art historian and Slavicist. She focuses on Europe-wide cultural projects at the intersections of art and society. She realizes exhibitions in international institutions. She founded and co-directed the project space uqbar (Wedding 2006–2013). As curator she leads the galleries in Körnerpark and Saalbau (both Neukölln, 2013–2022). In 2021 she founded an experimental cultural venue (Kunstbrücke am Wildenbruch, Neukölln). She is a member of the Berlin Council for the Arts (since 2018) and heads the Department of Culture of the Neukölln District Office (since 2023).
