moveGLOBAL e.V. was founded in 2013. The word ‘move’ in the name stands for ‘Migrant*innen Orientieren Vernetzen Empowern’ (Orienting, Networking, Empowering Migrants). Their goal as an umbrella organization has always been to create public spaces for migrant organizations in Berlin in which their concerns are heard. To achieve this, an anti-colonial, anti-racist, and diversity-oriented approach is essential when implementing projects and interacting with their members. As a regional association, their statutes restrict them to admitting only members whose association head-quarters are in Berlin. However, the areas in which they and their association members engage are of global significance.
