Ade Adekola, Nigerian-born based in Lagos, Nigeria, is an architect turned conceptual artist and one of Africa’s pioneers in digital arts. For over 30 years, he has been working at the intersection of art and technology. Since the early 1990s, Adekola has been creating interactive and responsive systems and art installations. He is dedicated to crafting thought provoking artworks that challenge societal norms, celebrate cultural heritage, and incite dialogue on the implications of technology in cultural expression. His approach is notably experimental. Adekolas work has been featured in magazines, international art fairs, and auctions, and covered by major media outlets like CNN, BBC, New York Times, and The Guardian. Adekola's work is marked by its broad creative direction, having produced a portfolio that includes over 70 distinct bodies of work.
