Job advertisement: Federal Voluntary Service

We are looking for federal volunteers for organisational and administrative support in seminar work; 1 year, from 01.08.2023 

Place of assignment 

"Berlin Global Village" is the Berlin One World Centre. Since March 2021, 50 development and migrant-diasporic non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have had office space here for their work. And in the public event rooms, they offer a wide range of political and cultural activities for the city's society. Berlin Global Village is a place of diversity, encounters, open dialogue and engagement that is unique in Berlin. In the spirit of globally just and sustainable development - in and for Berlin. Inclusive, diverse and sensitive to discrimination. Berlin Global Village gGmbH is the operating company for the One World Centre and thus not only a landlord with a special concept, but also a network of interesting organisations, (space) designer and process facilitator with its own programme work.   


Tasks 

What you can expect: 

A central component of our programme is the rental of rooms for large events, seminars, conferences and much more. We are looking for a flexible, committed, ambitious talent who wants to learn the basics of event coordination with the following tasks: 

  • Infopoint: communication with tenants, house guests and interested parties  
  • Practical support for event management (setting up rooms, on-site arrangements with cooperation partners, logistical support during events, handover and acceptance of rooms) 
  • Maintenance and help with cleaning the event rooms 
  • Participation in and support for networking events at the One World Centre 

You will also gain an insight into the other areas of work at Berlin Global Village.  

 

What you should bring with you: 

  • Enjoy creating good spatial conditions for political work 
  • Customer friendliness: Proactive commitment and drive  
  • Organisational skills: enjoy administrative tasks  
  • Ease of working with computers (Microsoft Suite) 
  • Interest in the question of how to create discrimination-sensitive structures and spaces 
  • German at least A2 level (written and spoken) 
  • Willingness to occasionally work on weekends
