The Summer Festival of Berlin Global Village
June 27, 2025 – 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM
On June 27, 2025, the Berlin Global Village will open its doors for the fourth time, inviting you to the BGVestival – a summer festival celebrating openness, creativity, and diversity.
Enjoy a diverse program for children and adults, featuring live music, exhibitions, interactive formats, and culinary delights from around the world. Together with initiatives, organizations, and engaged individuals, we celebrate diversity and dialog – right in the heart of Berlin-Neukölln.
The BGVestival is free of charge and open to all – whether you’re curious, involved, or just looking for a great way to spend an afternoon. Join us, connect with others, discover other perspectives, and celebrate with us!
From 7:00 PM, our summer festival will be part of 48h Neukölln!
Meet and Greet with the Organizations
Many organizations from the Berlin Global Village are excited to welcome you at their info booths! Get to know their work and engage in conversations about topics like social and environmental justice, sustainability, migration, and diversity. Many booths also offer interactive Mini-Games and activities – and perhaps even a few snacks to try.
Live Music
Look forward to a diverse genre-crossing stage program! The evening kicks off with Sherryaeri, a DJ spinning everything from hip-hop and Arabic melodies to electronic beats – the perfect soundtrack to get you moving.
Later in the evening, Daada and Mandhla take over the stage: Daada blends soulful melodies with powerful lyrics, while Mandhla fuses electronic sounds with political messages and rhythmic energy. Together, they’ll close out the BGVestival with an unforgettable musical finale.
Dance Workshop
Salsa or Dança da Família? Or maybe both! The organizations Casa Latinoamericana and Africa Yetu invite you to join their dance workshops for all levels – guaranteed to get you on your feet!
Screen Printing Workshop
Ever wanted to design your own shirt or tote bag? Xinan Pandan will show you how to bring your ideas to life in the screen printing workshop – creative, practical, and ready to take home.
Exhibitions
The Begegnungscafé will feature a photography exhibition by Humantektur, exploring the intersection of housing and environmental justice. Meanwhile, the Lumumba Galerie presents an exhibition on Berlin’s first decolonial memorial, the Earth Nest – a place of remembrance, resistance, and artistic engagement with global power structures.
Film Program
The organization M-Power is dedicated to empowering girls and women. In one of their recent projects, numerous short films were created, featuring young FLINTA* individuals both in front of and behind the camera. A selection of these inspiring films will be screened at the BGVestival.
Children’s Program
The Ludothek and EPIZ have put together a colorful program for kids and teens! At the Ludothek, a creative activity area invites young visitors to explore: there will be printing, crafting, toy-making – and even a barefoot path waiting to be discovered.
As part of the summer festival, EPIZ is opening its library – and the Weltraum (exploration room)! Here, you can browse the graphic novel and children’s book sections or try out the interactive climate scale. And if you're up for a virtual adventure, head to the workshop room, where VR headsets will take you on exciting journeys – from the Amazon rainforest to the grocery store around the corner.
