Counselling for Refugees from Ukraine

For more than a year now there has been war in Ukraine. Shortly after, an alliance of migrant-diasporic organizations in the Berlin Global Village established a free counseling service especially for refugees People of Color and People of African Descent. Today, there is still a pressing need to alleviate the difficulties of these groups in particular.

Since January 2023, coordinated by Zakï e.V., the open counseling offer is continued, in cooperation with Afrika-Rat Berlin Brandenburg e.V.AFROTAK TV cyberNomadsmoveGLOBAL e.V. and DaMigra- Dachverband der Migrantinnenorganisationen e.V..

The meetings take place on Tuesdays from 10:00-13:00 in the room of the Migrant Diasporic Organizations (MDO room) on the 4th floor, new building.

Exhibition: Art on Cardboard – From Waste to Portrait

Cardboard boxes that would normally end up in the trash are given a new purpose in this exhibition by Eduardo Lopez: each recycled canvas now carries a face, a gesture, a presence. The Mexican self-taught artist deliberately shows his work in community spaces to make it accessible to everyone. On view until April 30th at the Begegnungscafé at Berlin Global Village.
