Busy jour fixe: networking during lunch break

Berlin Global Villages first “Jour fixe” in 2023 was a great success! Over 50 people – more than ever before – came together on 23/01/09, during their lunch break for a delicious Chilli sin Carne in the „Begegnungs-Café“. To start the new year “ICJA Freiwilligenaustausch weltweit e.V.” who recently moved into the house introduced itself. ICJA sends young people between 18 and 28 years and older volunteers to its partner countries and at the same time welcomes people from these countries. With 40 employees ICJA is now the largest group in the Berlin Global Village.

In addition to the opportunity to network with others, the jour fixe also offered the chance for a cargo bike test ride. The Action Alliance Fair Trade Berlin will purchase one or two new cargo bikes for the groups of the Berlin Global Village in 2023. Soon the groups in the building will be able to transport material to events in the city in a climate-neutral and sustainable way. In the future, there will be a small fleet of cargo bikes at the Berlin Global Village with two to three models that complement each other in size and function. Go to @berlinglobalvillage for more pictures of the test ride!

On the 1st Monday of each month, tenants of the Berlin Global Village are invited to meet other people and organizations in the building or introduce themselves at the Jour fixe. The meeting offers an hour of networking and is a platform to get to know each other and exchange ideas.
