book presentation and workshop
Against the background of global crises, collaborations between activism, science and museum practice experience a boom.At the same time, the requirements for how to work together will be placed in the context of collapsing western democracies in new sharpness and with restrictions on expression, science and art freedom.
These topics are in the anthology "Power criticism collaboration between activism, museum and university" (2025) Composite project "Museums and Society - Mapping the Social" and its activist advisory board took up and reflected in interviews and mappings.
The cooperation in the advisory board and this anthology emerged during a social tilting point: the moment when many cultural institutions in particular, participatory-democratic change processes and diversity idealism are threatening to fail and increasing authoritarianism.Based on the anthology, the status quo of diversity development and power -critical collaboration should therefore be examined in a workshop and a look into the future should be directed. How can cultural institutions continue?Which developments influence, difficult and enable new forms of collaboration? After a discussion round of the experts, these questions in the second part in small groups should be discussed as a peer-to-peer exchange in order to explore action strategies.
The book presentation and the workshop are aimed at cultural actors who work in institutions in the field of education and mediation and/or anti -discrimination and diversity development.
The workshop has the Level 3 and deals with the successful implementation of the discrimination critical knowledge. Here your own scope for action are explored, as well as specific ideas and measures in exchange with other participants are checked. For Level 3, the thorough knowledge of the content of Level 1-2 and continuous self-study is required.Information about the individual levels is available here .
