The Humantectur gGmbH in cooperation with architects across borders look forward to participating in the Women in Architecture Festival 2025 .
The Wia Festival 2025 is the first nationwide festival to visualize women in architecture, interior design, urban and open space planning as well as construction and engineering construction.All over Germany, 144 players will illuminate the presence of women in construction and planning culture in a total of 264 projects.We look forward to starting and celebrating together with you at our regional opening in the colorful and diverse festival.
Our contribution presents architects from the global south and their diverse perspectives, visions and projects in Berlin Global Village in Neukölln.It illuminates the situation of women in the construction industry in the global south and shows the challenges for women in the construction industry, but also successful ways to get a place in the work there.The work and voices are emphasized by posters and statements and presented to the general public.
In our many years of work in partnership -based construction advice and promotion in development cooperation and disaster relief in the global south, the teams of human culture and architects work across borders within over 70 different countries with local partners, architectural offices and construction service providers.It is striking that women are rarely represented in the architectural offices, as construction managers or craftsmen.The number of women involved can be counted on two hands despite the large number of accompanied projects.
Our project experience was put to the test by interviews with selected architects from 15 different countries from Argentina, via Malawi to Tanzania.In the form of posters and video statements, the interview results are presented as part of an exhibition in Berlin Global Village from June 19, 2025 to June 29, 2025, a vernissage on June 19, 2025.

6:30 p.m. Welcome, presentation of the Wia initiative and presentation of the regional WIA program by the Wia team
7:00 p.m. Official opening of the exhibition with a greeting and project presentation by the team of human culture and the team architects across borders
Followed by a professional short lecture, the city researcher Professor Dr.Lindsay Howe (University of Liechtenstein / TU Munich) on the subject of “designing diversity”
Short lectures / panel discussion of interview participants from the global south about the situation of women in the construction industry in their country
8:30 p.m. Muskalische contribution: With feminist, international music by the Berliner
A capella group "Ecoro" and others
