JOSHUA KWESI AIKINS is a political scientist, human rights activist and a PhD candidate at University of Kassel's Department of Development and Postcolonial Studies . His research interests include the interaction between western-style and indigenous political institutions in Ghana, post- and decolonial perspectives on 'development,' cultural and political representation of the African Diaspora, coloniality and the politics of memory in Germany.

LENE ALBRECHT, born in Berlin in 1986, studied cultural studies in Frankfurt (Oder) and at the Literaturinstitut Leipzig. Her debut novel "We, in the Window" was published in 2019. She received a research grant from the Berlin Senate for her work on "White Spots". As a member of the collective WRITING WITH CARE/RAGE, she organized a conference of the same name in 2019 on the question of the compatibility of care work and authorship. She works as a freelance editor, journalist and presenter for Deutschlandfunk Kultur's radio art department.

LAWRENCE ODURO-SARPONG was born and raised in Ghana. Since 2002, sensitization for anti-racism, critical whiteness, decolonization, empowerment, mediation & conflict management, process facilitation and organizational consulting and development have been the focus of his work. He advises, among others, business enterprises, universities and colleges, church institutions, public authorities and voluntary services.In an honorary capacity, he is a board member of AfricAvenir International e.V., a pan-Africanist NGO working for decolonization and an African renaissance, as well as a board member of the association Berliner Entwicklungspolitischer Ratschlag, an umbrella organization of all development NGOs in the state of Berlin.

Panel discussion & Q&A session
The talk is moderated by JOHARA SARHAN, from Decolonize Berlin.
She is an ethnologist specializing in intersectional perspectives on decolonial processes. Both in her primary role as a consultant at Decolonize Berlin and in her secondary and voluntary engagements, she focuses on transformative efforts toward decolonization across various societal domains.
