The Verein entwicklungspolitischer Austauschorganisationen e.V. (ventao), is a quality and interest association of supporting organisations in the weltwärts programme. The weltwärts programme is a development policy learning service aimed at young people between the ages of 18 and 28, or 35 if they have an impairment or disability, who want to think about global connections and their own responsibility in the world. The programme consists of various seminars and a kind of internship (6-24 months) in a project for the common good abroad or in Germany. Programme participation goes in both directions: North-South exchange and South-North exchange. It is funded up to 75% by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
For young people who are interested in participating in the North-South-Weltwärts programme, we would be happy to provide information and forward it to our member organisations that offer the programme.
For organisations that are interested,
- in a partnership with an organisation in a country of the so-called Global South to send and accompany volunteers from Germany, we are happy to offer advice.
- If you are interested in partnering with an organisation in a country of the so-called Global South to host and accompany South-North volunteers from countries of the so-called Global South in Germany, we will also be happy to provide advice.
- If you would like to welcome South-North volunteers to your organisation and have them work with you for a certain period of time, we are also happy to offer advice.
