Last week, students of the Seminar for Rural Development (SLE) of the Humboldt University of Berlin came to visit Berlin Global Village. During a tour through the new building, we talked about various topics, the architecture and design of the building, challenges, the basic idea of Berlin Global Village, bringing together developmental and migrant and diasporic structures or how to bring people together, especially in times of Corona. The great interest and ethusiasm of the students made conversation easy and possible to exchange ideas, despite masks that were only taken off on the roof terrace for the photo.
One day before we talked with students of the Master studies course “Geographical Development Research” (German site) of the Institute for Geographical Sciences of the Free University of Berlin online. Here, too, we showed photographies of the house as well as floor plans, presented structures and basic ideas of the One World Centrum and were able to engage with the students afterwards.
We are pleased about the interest and the inquiries of students of the city in our project.
